Fictional Biography
Pride
The daughter of Dale and Stacy Yorks, Hertha is first shown how she screams that she does not want to go to the annual Wilders charity; After witnessing the murder of an innocent girl by their parents (Pride), despite the fact that her parents were shocked, she remains the only one not surprised that her parents are actually villains, claiming that she suspected her parents were evil with since her beloved pig suspiciously disappeared [6] . Hertha joins his team in massive looting to escape from their homes. However, before Hertha’s departure, he discovers a dinosaur in a hidden room in his basement, which is telepathically connected with Hertha’s consciousness, that is, obeys her every command [6] . Having discovered a holographic message involving Hertha's parents and the fact that her basement is full of rare antiques, Bellaway's parents conclude that Hertha's parents are actually time travelers [6] . After the escape, Geert takes the name Arsenic and duplicates her Old Leys dinosaur, referring to a film of the same name. While other members take code names to look more like superheroes, Gert takes her name to cut all ties with her parents and past life [7] . Later, she and the other Fugitives decide to use their real names again, but Old Lace continues to use her codename, as she did not have a name before.
Personality
Throughout the first volume, Hertha refuses to answer his name and adheres to his code name, the longest of all the Fugitives who begin to reset their names [7] . Hertha's cynical attitude towards her parents (and towards adults in general) also goes through the first and second volumes, where her conviction that her parents killed her beloved pig is becoming stronger. Although all fugitives share a mutual distrust of adults, Hertha remains the hottest and loudest in philosophy [6] .
Carolina: His parents are evil. Hertha: Well, if this is our only criterion, this place will quickly fill up. - Carolina joins Hertha after Tofer's short membership [8] .
Original text: Karolina: His parents are evil. Gert: Well, if that's our only criteria, this place is going to fill up fast.
Herth's cynical attitude breaks when, after Chase's resurrection from drowning (after their last meeting with Pride), she shares a passionate kiss after he awakens; It is generally accepted that Chase and Geert become a couple at this stage [9] . After the battle, the government is forced to admit that the Fugitives are not murderers, but innocent victims. Hertha is sent to live in a boarding school, and the Avengers lock Old Lek in a secret room in Los Angeles itself [10] . A few months later, she runs away from school to join her friends and, with the assistance of Chase, frees Old Lek. She joins the team in Lipfrog , Pride 's old land-sea transport, also confiscated by the Avengers, and runs away to start life as a full observer [9] .
How The Fugitive / Death
The second volume shows that Geert is fighting under the command of Nico, while still meeting with Chase. [11] Meanwhile, one of her parents' old cars appears in a new hostel, in which she wears a black, physically healthy woman without glasses, claiming to be Hertha from the future; This version of Hertha grew to become the leader of the Avengers under the pseudonym Heroine. The heroine warns the Fugitives about Victor Manch, a sleeping teenage threat that will grow to kill every hero under the pseudonym “Victorious”. Future Gert dies in Chase's arms, unable to finish the phrase: "I love you." [11] The team fights and defeats Ultron, and Victor rewrites his programs and claims that he is free from Ultron's influence. Nico invites him to the team. [12] Shortly after the fugitives' trip to New York, the New Pride reveals a kiss shared between Chase and Nico Hertha; Hertha is upset and the group begins to deteriorate; Molly is kidnapped, and Old Lek physically attacks Nico. [13] Gert and Nico are able to put off their differences long enough to save Molly from the New Pride, but during the rescue, Gert takes a dagger in his stomach to save Chase. In her final moments, Hertha transfers empathic control to Old Lekom Chase, ensuring that the dinosaur will live. Hertha dies in Chase's arms, forgiving Chase for kissing Nico. Her last words are that she complains that her older version never told Chase how she felt, and then she dies without finishing saying: "I love you." [14]
Main school arc
Chase encounters a girl who has a strange resemblance to the late Hertha, who does not recognize him. Initially stunned, he pursues her in order to catch up with her recklessly running through the impending movement. She screams for him to stop, as a silhouette resembling Old Lek appears in an alley behind her, but he is struck by a van. The girl seems to be leaving as paramedics throw Chase into the hospital. [15]
Connection with other Fugitives
Hertha rarely interacts with Carolina. These two were seen to mark each other's appearance or family, but are rarely found talking as other characters [13] . Hertha often looks after Molly, although Molly has a more brotherly relationship with Chase and Victor [16] . Gert, in spite of her omen of her and Victor's future, often defended her [13] . Hertha is found in Runaways vol 2, # 18 [9] . Their relationship was often determined due to bickering - Chase's hazy moments often came across Hertha's caustic and clever jokes. Herth's relationship with Chase somewhat softened her, although she did not completely lose her sarcastic edge. Their relationship developed rapidly, with several comments suggesting that they shared the same bed and were sexually intimate [17] . However, their relationship was in jeopardy when Hertha found out that Nico was kissing Chase; Although Chase pushed Nico offensive, Herte was still in pain that Chase had hidden this interaction from her. She told about her insecurity in her appearance and fear that Chase would eventually leave her for a more conventionally beautiful girl [4] . Although she implied that reconciliation hurt her, she still ran into a burning building to save Chase from Jeffrey Wilder after they fell out [4] . She bluffs some details about Chase's past to prevent Jeffrey from sacrificing Chase, and Jeffrey fell to a collapse, but instead sticks his dagger into Hertha's stomach [4] . When she lay, she transferred control of the Old Lays to Chase and died, forgiving Chase for Nico's kiss and not finishing saying that she loved him [4] .
Geert and Nico have been friends since birth. [4] Nico shows that Hertha was always a liberal thinker when Geert hid all My Little Pony Nico dolls in the forest because Geert thought animals should be free [18] . Nico knitted a purple scarf for Hertha's birthday, and this prompted Hertha to dye her hair the same color [18] . Although she sometimes interrogated Niko, Hertha always stood next to her friend with unwavering devotion. [18] Hertha's loyalty did not go unnoticed, since Nico asked Hertha to take over if something should happen. [19] Although their relationship grew tense after Hertha discovered the Nico kiss, they soon reconciled, after yet another throw of insults and Internet slang, demonstrating the close relationships and respect with which they shared. Nico grieved for a long time after the death of Hertha and even felt guilty of the victim [19] .
Strengths and Abilities
Hertha has no physical strength, but has a mental connection with Old Lek. Old Lek makes her first appearance after being discovered in a secret compartment in Herth's basement. Hertha discovered that she had a telepathic connection with Old Lek when the dinosaur stopped eating the Fugitives because Hertha shouted: “STOP!” In fear. [6] In one of the Runaways' early encounters with Pride, Geert also discovered that she had an empathic relationship with Old Leck when she experienced the same pain that Old Leck felt. [6] Hertha's telepathic relationship with Old Lek allowed her to communicate directly with the dinosaur and order him to do whatever she wished. The connection worked in both directions, allowing Old Lek to transfer her thoughts directly to Hertha, but Old Lek could not command Herth in the same way. Old Lek was unconditionally loyal to Herth, even before he fought against the team; Old Lek once attacked Niko without Herth’s orders, when Herth and Niko had their short loss. [13] The sympathy of Hertha and Old Lek was beneficial in that every time a person was healed, the other always got better. [13] However, he also made everyone aware of injuries on which they would normally not have been severely affected. For example, in Issue 7, Issue 7, The Fugitives refuses to fight Roy because she is allergic to bee stings, and she claims that even one sting on Old Lek can put an end to both of them. [20]
Although Gertrude herself did not possess any authority, she apparently possessed a high level of intelligence at her age, having the opportunity in the first volume to understand how the cloak and the forces of the cloak work, and how to revive them. While the Marvel guide files did give her intelligence levels in a 4 out of 7 rating and therefore were above average intelligence equal to Alex or even Victor Manche, she was not a genius. In the third volume, when the team reunited and returned when she returned to the team with Molly, saying: “It’s hard to fool the guards when they are all psychics,” although it is not known whether it was sarcasm or truth. In the first volume, her mind seemed to be at the same level as Alex Wilder, seeing her first.
Conceptual Origin
In the original feed for this series, Hertha was originally called Gerty. She also had a sister relationship with Molly, which Chase used in the series, and was the one who called Molly “Strong” instead of Chasey. [sixteen]
Beyond Comics
Gertrude Yorks appears in Hulu's “ Runaways ” viewer, portrayed by Ariela Bayer [21] . Hertha is rather a sarcastic warrior of social justice and she is chasing Chase. She also acts as the adoptive sister of Molly, whose parents died on fire before the start of the television series. She is trying to train Chase, but he does not appear. Hertha hesitates to pick up Molly, who does not want to be left alone and go to Alex's house [22] .
