Biography
M.I. Tagaychinov was born in 1790 in the family of Chief Officer Ivan Tagaychinov in the Oryol province . He graduated from the 1st Cadet Corps in 1807 and was sent to the 16th Artillery Brigade [1] . In 1809 he was transferred to the 5th artillery brigade, two years later renamed the 14th artillery brigade [2] . As part of the 14th artillery brigade, M. I. Tagaychinov took part in many significant episodes of the Patriotic War of 1812 [3] [4] .
“In the second war with the French, in the campaigns - the First: 1812 from July 18 on the Russian borders, against the French troops, at metro Klyastitsy , 30th at the river Svolne. - The second: on the same year of October 6, 7 and 9 at the city of Polotsk , where on October 7, for the difference in battle, he was all-mercifully awarded the rank of staff captain; the same month on the 19th and November 2 at metro Chashniki and Smolyany Manor, where he was wounded in the right cheek; November 16 at the Berezina River. The rewarding with the rank of captain mentioned in the formulary was an amazing event in the military biography of M. Tagaychinov. Having received the rank of lieutenant on October 5, 1812, Mikhail Tagaychinov passes in it for only two days, since already on November 7, 1812 he will be granted the rank of captain for the difference in the battle of the city of Polotsk.
Also, as part of the 14th artillery brigade, M. I. Tagaychinov participated in foreign campaigns of the Russian army in 1813-1814. : in the battles of Leipzig , Bar-sur-Ob , Troyes , Arste and the capture of Paris , as well as further in actual battles during the campaign of Russian troops in France during 1815.

“On August 16, 1817 he was transferred to equestrian artillery company No. 24, which was renamed March 2, 1818 into the 2nd equestrian artillery company. November 7, 1818 he was appointed commander of the mounted artillery No. 14th company. September 4, 1820 he was appointed brigade commander of horse artillery companies No. 13 and No. 14. On December 21, 1829, both companies were renamed Equestrian Artillery Company No. 16. ”

The horse artillery companies of the 13th and 14th indicated on the list made up the artillery brigade, whose commander M. I. Tagaychinov was appointed on September 4, 1820 [5] . This artillery brigade was part of the 2nd Ulan Division [6] . A little later, on November 24, 1822, the highest favor was declared on the proposal of the Chief over the military settlements, the Chief of the Artillery General Count A.A. In 1831, M. I. Tagaychinov participated in the suppression of the Polish rebellion , in particular, in the seizure of Warsaw by attack .
In 1834, he was appointed assistant commander of the Tula arms factory for economic affairs and head of the 1st division [8] . He, as the second person after the plant commander, had to eliminate the consequences of a terrible fire that occurred in the summer of that year and destroyed the plant almost completely [9] . And at the same time continue to manufacture weapons for the army. Even a devastating fire could not serve as a basis for stopping the production of weapons. Almost a year after a serious illness in January 1840, the plant commander A.I. Sivers and his death on February 15 led the enterprise until the appointment of Colonel N.I. Lazarevich in October of that year.
In 1841, M. I. Tagaychinov was transferred to the artillery department of the Ministry of War [10] , which he held until 1844.
By the highest order of March 5, 1844, M. I. Tagaychinov was dismissed from military service for domestic reasons with the rewarding of the next rank of Major General with a uniform and full pension [11] .
In the same year he was again “assigned to the service” and by November 1, 1844 he was assigned to the Ministry of State Property [12] . A year later, he was correcting the position of vice inspector in the corps of foresters of the Ministry of State Property [13] . In 1848, M. I. Tagaychinov was appointed manager of the Astrakhan Chamber of State Property [14] [1] and in the Kalmyk administration of the chamber - the main trustee of the Kalmyk people and Chairman of the council [15] . He has been in this position for 10 years. By the highest order of August 30, 1858, M. I. Tagaychinov was dismissed with the next rank of lieutenant general , uniform and pension [16] [17] . Memory
The name of lieutenant of the 14th artillery brigade M. I. Tagaychinov is inscribed on a marble slab in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior as a participant in the Patriotic War of 1812, wounded in battle and awarded the Order of St. George [18] . And the marble slab with his name is located on the wall number 24 of the temple [19] .
Family
M. I. Tagaychinov was married the first marriage in which five children were born - a daughter and four sons. On February 3 (15), 1839, his wife Anna Karlovna died of consumption at the age of 34 and was buried in the All Saints Cemetery in the city of Tula .
Mikhail Tagaychinov had a brother Alexander Ivanovich Tagaychinov - a participant in the Patriotic War of 1812 and foreign campaigns of the Russian army in 1813-1814. , adjutant to the head of the Tula arms factory, Major General E. E. Staden [20] and a little later with him (already under the inspector of the weapons factories, Lieutenant General E. E. Staden) was an officer for special assignments [21] in the control of the weapons inspector factories of the artillery department of the Ministry of War, cavalier of the Order of St. George 4th degree, was awarded a gold saber with the inscription "For courage."
