Otiug ( English otyugh ; probably from other Greek ὖς ( genus ὠτός ) “ear” and ὄγχος “claw, hook”; lit. “claw”) - a monster invented by Gary Gygeksom for the board role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons , which he created in 1974 with Dave Arneson . Otiug first appears in the first edition of the Monster Manual ( Monster Guide, 1977), which describes it as an underground omnivorous animal that feeds mainly on manure, refuse, and carrion.
Another name is otiuga - gulgutra ( English gulguthra ).
Description
Otiug is a three-legged animal, equipped with a pair of long tentacles with spiked lobes at the ends. Three eyes on a movable stem allow the otiuga to quickly explore the surroundings. The weight of an adult is about 500 pounds (227 kg), that is, like a large male tiger. It lives underground in places such as sewers. It moves quite slowly on the ground, although it can quickly turn around. It grabs the victim with its long clawed tentacles.
Otiugi is most often found singly or in small groups of up to four individuals.
The breeding season is one month a year. Reach maturity in 4 months.
