Unya is a river in Russia , flows through the territory of the Trinity-Pechora region of the Komi Republic , the left tributary of the Pechora River , the first of the significant tributaries of this river.

Length - 163 km, basin area - 2890 km² [2] . High water in May - June. It freezes in October - the 1st half of November, opens in late April - May. The average annual water flow rate is 39 km from the mouth - 45 m³ / s.
The largest tributaries are Kisunya , Umpol (all left).
Unya begins on the western slope of the Northern Urals . The source is located near the source of Pechora near the place where the Republic of Komi , Sverdlovsk region and Perm region converge.
It flows to the west and south-west, in the lower reaches, near the mouth of Umpol, turns north. For almost the entire length, Unia flows in rocky, sometimes steep banks covered with forests. There are many caves in the surrounding rocks.
The riverbed is winding, almost overwhelming with stony rifts and rapids. The most difficult threshold - Bolshoi - is located 3 kilometers beyond the confluence of Kisunya. In the upper reaches there are many shallow areas. The width of the river in the upper reaches of 10-50 meters, below the mouth of the Kisunya River, it expands to 70-100 meters. The flow rate is high.
At the confluence of Unya in Pechora, the village of Ust-Unya is located. Below the mouth of Unyi Pechora it becomes limited navigable.
Unya is rich in fish; salmon come into it to spawn.
