Friedrich I ( him. Friedrich I. von Brehna ; between February 27, 1142 and May 19, 1145 - January 4, 1191 ) - Count Brena from 1157, of the Wettin family.

The younger son of the Meissen margrave of Conrad I. He inherited the county of Bren and the cities of Trebus, Löben, Prettin, Burg, Schweinitz, Jessen, Cluden, Tsvetau, Herzberg, Belzig, Zahn, Wiesenburg, Verben, Gommern.

Supporter of Emperor Frederick I. Together with him participated in the battle of Legnano (1176).

He died on January 4, 1191. Buried in Petersberg in the monastery.

Family

Wife - Hedwig Moravian (died February 19, 1210), daughter of the Moravian Duke Dipold. Children:

  • Otto I (d. 23 December 1203), Earl of Brerena
  • Frederick II (died October 16, 1221) - Count Brena, from 1217 Count Wettin
  • Sofia (died after 1235), with 1203 abbess in Quedlinburg .
