Born on August 28, 1932 in the village of Podlesye, Lviv region.

In 1956 - graduated from Lviv State University .

From 1956 to 1970 he worked as an employee of the Amakinskaya and Botuobinsky expeditions of the state-owned company Yakutskgeology.

From 1968 to 1987 - Head of the TsNIGRI diamond laboratory in the city of Mirny.

Since 1987 - leading researcher of TsNIGRI .

The main studies are devoted to primary diamond deposits, their prediction and exploration. He created generalized kimberlite pipe models for Yakutia and other regions of the world.

Member of expert councils, International Diamond Council.

Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (2000).
