New World Order (Wrestling)

The New World Order ( New World Order , usually shortened to nWo ) is a wrestling group originally composed of Hollywood Hulk Hogan , Kevin Nash and Scott Hall , known for playing in the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from mid to late 1990 s. [one]

The group used the image of wrestlers, whose actions are aimed at capturing and controlling control in WCW, in the manner of a street gang. Later, a similar plot was used in WWE , where the group debuted in 2002. [2] The plot with nWo became one of the most influential in the mid-late 1990s, led WCW to success and played an important role in transforming North American wrestling into a more mature, adult-oriented product. nWo became the main driving force of WCW in the fight against WWF in Monday Night Wars [3] .

Content

Concept

The nWo story was created by WCW Executive Vice President Eric Bischoff , who was inspired by the story from NJPW , in which wrestlers from another company, Union of Wrestling Forces International (UWFi), invaded the company's show. Bischoff wanted to repeat the plot of the invasion when WCW would be sabotaged by another wrestling company - WWF , since the founders of nWo had previously performed in this promotion. Initially, nWo was introduced as an object outside of WCW. Often, propaganda commercials about nWo were featured in an invasion style with a voice proclaiming: “The next announcement was paid for by the New World Order.”

History

Ground

On June 6, 1996, at the WCW Bash at the Beach (1996) show, Hulk Hogan unexpectedly joined Outsiders Kevin Nash and Scott Hall during the Hostile Takeover match. He spends his old stage friend Randy Savage a couple of his crown moves, after which he fixes the hold, and Hall counts out three hits. Hogan, Nash and Hall triumphantly raise their hands. Garbage begins to fly into the ring, and in the meantime, Gene Okerland is about to interview Hogan. [four]

Gene Okerland : Hulk Hogan, let me! Allow me. What does the world think about this?
Hulk Hogan : Min Jin! The first thing you need to do is order these people to shut up if you want to hear something from me!
Okerland : After so many years of meeting you, I feel bad because you became friends with these people. All the people of the world are tired of these two, and now the Hulk Hogan has joined them. You are probably joking.
Hogan : The first thing you need to realize, brother, is that now there is the future of wrestling in the ring. You can call us the new world wrestling order, brother.

Hogan continued, reminding everyone of the “ great and large organization from the north, ” where Hall and Nash came from, and that he was there too and he linked the name of that company with his name until he transferred to WCW in 1994.

Hogan : I was approached by billionaire Ted , who promised me films, millions of dollars, world-class matches. But I'm tired of what Eric Bischoff does, what the whole WCW does, brother!

He then announced that Hall and Nash were the people whom he really wanted to see as his friends, and that together the three of them gathered to capture WCW and destroy everything in its path. At that moment, Okerland asked Hogan to take a look at the trash scattered around the ring, and draws his attention to the fact that this is the future of the Hulk if he continues to work with Outsiders. [five]

Hogan : I think all this rubbish is like the fans who came to the show. Two years! For two years I did everything for the sake of charity, for the sake of children, and now I have received such a reception? You can put this technique in your ass! If not for the Hulk Hogan, you would not be here! If not for the Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff would still be selling meat from a truck in Minneapolis. If not for the Hulk Hogan, all of these wrestlers would not be here now. I was a wrestler even when they were finishing school. But now everything will be different. What will you do, Min Jin, when the new world wrestling organization moves you?

Hogan, Hall, and Nash attempted to attack Auckland, but he threatened to sue if they did. The broadcast ended with shots with three wrestlers who mock the fans, and they boo and throw garbage at them.

The day after Bash at the Beach, Hall and Nash appeared on Nitro without Hogan, trying to attack Sting , Arn Anderson and Randy Savage , but were restrained by the WCW guards. Hogan returned a week later and helped Hall and Nash beat up Lex Luger and Big Bubba Rogers during a major Nitro fight. Hogan then challenged the then WCW world heavyweight champion, Giant , on the August Hog Wild show.

Hogan Becomes Champion, Bischoff's Secret Reveals

At Hog Wild, now called Hollywood, Hulk Hogan (often shortened to Hollywood Hogan ) won the match after hitting the Giant with a title belt. After the match, Hogan symbolically renamed the title, drawing nWo letters from a spray can with black paint on his belt.

Two days later, Hog Wild, Ted Dibiasi made his debut at WCW, declaring himself the financier of nWo, and was nicknamed “Triloliner Ted” (WCW owner, Ted Turner , was named the Billionaire Ted). On September 2 at Nitro, the New World Order included in its ranks the first WCW wrestler, the Giant, which lost its title to Hogan a few weeks ago.

As the annual PPV Fallout Brawl approached, WCW was preparing for a new battle against nWo. On September 9, at Nitro, nWo deceived fans and wrestlers by saying that Sting joined nWo by dressing wrestler Jeff Farmer in Sting’s clothes and applying the same makeup to him [6] .

Feud with Austin and the Rock

After the WWF invasion in 2001, Vince McMan invited the original nWo line-up to debut on No Way Out . [7] They targeted two of the company's main stars: Steve Austin and Scala , but both lost to WrestleMania X8 . [2] [8] After the match, Hogan shook Rock's hand, which Hall and Nash did not like. [2] Hall and Nash teamed up with X-Pac on March 21, 2002 on SmackDown! . [9]
