Biography
Olivier Ducastel was born on February 23, 1962 in Lyon , France. After spending his teenage years in Rouen , he moved to Paris to study theater and cinema at the University of New Sorbonne. In 1988, as a director, Ducastel directed the short musical comedy Desire to Pleasure ( French: Le Goût de plaire ). In the same year, he was an assistant in the last film of his mentor Jacques Demy “Three tickets for the twenty-sixth” ( French Trois places pour le 26 ). In 1995, Olivier Ducastel met Jacques Martino , which was the beginning of their personal relationship and creative cooperation. The first joint work of Ducastel and Martino was the tape " Jeanne and the Great Guy " - a musical comedy on HIV / AIDS , inspired by the films of Jacques Demy with the participation of Virginia Ledoyen and the son Demi Mathieu in the lead roles. In 2016, Ducastel and Martino led the jury of the LGBT contest - the film " Queer Palm " of the 69th Cannes International Film Festival [3] .
