Sokolik ( Latvian: Vanadziņš ) is a puppet film directed by Arnolds Burovs , filmed in 1978. The film lasts 10 minutes. Aesthetically the most integral, one of the most concise and strong works of Arnolds Burovs. [1] Included in the Cultural Canon of Latvia ,.
The plot of the film is based on three heroes - the little boy Sokolik, his playmate, kitten, and father-fisherman.
The technical component of the film for its time was quite complicated. Due to the close-up of the shooting, the puppet actor needed to observe the exact amplitude of the movements of the dolls. The credits of the film indicated both the doll manager and the puppet master [2] .
