Contribution to Debut Theory
He was engaged in a debut theory a lot. The most significant developments:
- Möller's attack in the Italian party (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Bc5 4. c3 Bf6 5. d4 ed 6. cd Bb4 + 7. Bc3 K: e4 8. 0-0 C: c3 9.d5 ). Leads to an extremely sharp game. Application experience has shown that with the right game, Black can repel threats, but they are required to make very accurate moves. [2] One of the most important parties - Bartsai - Portis , Hungarian Championship, 1969. [3] [4]
- Möller’s defense in the Spanish party (1. e4 e5 2. Kf3 Kc6 3. Bb5 a6 4. Ca4 Kf6 5. 0-0 Bc5 ). [5] Was in the opening repertoire of world champion A. A. Alekhine [6] [7] , grandmaster A. K. Tolush [8] and some other chess players. According to the research of Soviet theorists, Möller’s defense does not promise Black an equal game. [9]
