Simulated , or simulated , reality is a model of the world based on the assumption that all observed reality is simulated , that is, all observed laws of nature are set from the outside, possibly with random probability.
The principle explains the works of the English physicist S. Hawking about the birth and natural selection of hypothetical parallel universes . Also to some extent explains the results of the experiment with two slots with a . This model is able to explain such a phenomenon as quantum entanglement .
Presenting the model is quite simple - the world is "drawn" [1] in addition to the appearance of the character in a particular location. Approximately the same photon (accelerated particle) as if “remembers” that it has the properties of a particle - two bands appear on the screen. If the particle is not monitored, there is only its probabilistic position in space. Without observations, a photon (particle) has only wave properties - an interference pattern appears on the screen.
The conclusion of the experiment is as follows:
1) the wave properties of a photon is a simplified method for modeling the behavior of particles;
2) the properties of a particle ( corpuscle ) of a photon is a method for accurately modeling the behavior of particles.
In 2016, astrophysicist Neil Degrass Tyson tried to explain in a popular form the model of simulated reality in the scientific debate "Is the Universe" Computer Simulation? "" [2]
This model can also explain, for example, the effect of time dilation . If we rely on modern concepts of informatics and physics, then we can say the following - the clock frequency of the processor (system), which is busy with calculations of our reality, at speeds close to the speed of light, is not enough to calculate the exact position of any particles other than a photon. Thus, we can conclude that the photon, as a calibration boson , is a kind of reality software necessary for any interactions available for direct visual (energy) confirmation (fixation) for a person as an observer.
