Biography
In 1937-1939 - a turner of a factory in the city of Moscow .
Since August 1939 - in the Red Army . Member of the Great Patriotic War since December 1941. He was a cadet, platoon commander, chief of staff of the battalion, deputy commander of a separate infantry battalion. At the beginning of 1942, he fought on the Crimean Front . Since December 1942, he served as commander of the 4th Separate Rifle Battalion of the 34th Separate Rifle Brigade of the 11th Guards Rifle Corps of the 9th Army of the North Caucasus Front . Member of the Battle of the Caucasus . In 1943 he was the chief of staff of the 1054th Infantry Regiment. In June 1944 he was appointed commander of the 1050th Infantry Regiment, but literally a few days later he was seriously wounded in battle. He left the hospital only in November. and for health reasons, he was appointed head of the department of prisoner of war camp No. 144 ( Kadievka ). However, he achieved return to duty and in March 1945 he was appointed commander of the 177th Infantry Regiment of the 236th Infantry Division of the 26th Army of the 3rd Ukrainian Front . He led the regiment to victory. During the war years he was wounded four times (December 28, 1941, March 2, 1942, September 15, 1943, June 29, 1944).

After the war he continued to serve in the Armed Forces of the USSR . Since August 1945 he studied at the Military Academy of the Red Army named after M.V. Frunze , graduated from it in 1948. Since November 1948 - deputy commander of the 83rd Guards Mechanized Regiment of the 26th Guards Mechanized Division , since May 1950 - in the same position in the 85th Guards Mechanized Regiment of this division, and since September 1951 - commander of the 84th Guards mechanized regiment of this division. Since December 1952, he commanded the 112th Guards Mechanized Regiment in the 35th Guards Mechanized Division . From October 1954 - the commander of the 180th Rifle Division , from May 1955 - the commander of the 14th Rifle Division , from May 1957 - the commander of the 88th Motor Rifle Division and from November 1957 to September 1958 - the commander of the 118th Motor Rifle Division .
He graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the USSR Armed Forces in 1960. Since July 1960, he served as first deputy commander of the 1st Separate Army . From October 1963 to April 1968 - commander of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army Group of Soviet Forces in Germany .
From April 1968 to April 1974, he was the commander of the troops of the Odessa Military District .
Since May 1974 - First Deputy Head of the Military Academy of the General Staff . Since November 1981, he worked as a consultant to the Institute of Military History of the USSR Ministry of Defense in Moscow.
He died in 1982, was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery [1]
