Description
Afanasy Afanasevich Fet was born in the village of Novoselki, Mtsensk district of the Oryol province . He graduated from the Department of Philosophy at Moscow University. The first collection of his poems "The Lyric Pantheon" [1] was published in 1840. From 1845 to 1858 he was in military service. After retiring, he lived in Moscow and was engaged in literary work. A. Fet died in 1892 in Moscow. He was buried in an estate in the village of Kleimenovo, Orel Region [2] .
On May 25, 1997, in Orel, on Saltykov-Shchedrin Street near the Writers' House, a monument to the poet was unveiled - a granite pedestal made of bronze on a granite pedestal. The author of the project is the national artist of Russia, sculptor N. A. Ivanov [3] . The work was done in the style of easel art [4] .
