“Alekseev” is the song of the “Center” group from the 1987 albums “ Russians in their company ” and 1989 “ Made in Paris ” (which included the tenth track; also included in the collection “ Legends of Russian rock ”), which is a list of people with Russian surname Alekseev , but with different names and patronymic names and professions - only twenty Alekseevs (Alekseev-doctor, Alekseev-engineer, agronomist, soldier, communist, etc.). Vasily Shumov, the leader of the group, repeatedly used such a personal listing (for example, in the songs “Only 17 Per Year” and “The Search for Truth”). The song is performed by the author in the 2000s and continues to be covered by the press. So, one of the notes ironically notes that "Vasily Shumov contributed to the census by listing all the Alekseevs." [one]

Non-canonical Alekseev
At the concerts of the 2000s, Vasily Shumov departed from the canonical text of the 1980s. So, at the concert [1] , held on April 7, 2007 in the club "Ikra",
Stumbling, he said hello and announced that if someone with the surname Alekseev was in the hall, he could receive the album for free. There were no such people in the hall, and the artist began to sing.
The first composition “Alekseev” was performed under electronic music, where, in a mechanical voice, Vasily Shumov listed all kinds of Alekseevs and their type of activity, for example, “Alekseev Ivan Petrovich - Hungry” or “Alekseev Andrei Mikhailovich - Killer”. The same text, compared with the canonical version of the edited, could be seen behind the artist - there were captions on the plasma screen. ... The song ended when the artist listed about 50 Alekseevs.
The new version of the song is included in the album " Content " (CD. "Soyuz-Music", 2010.) In a review of this album, Vladimir Preobrazhensky writes: [4]
The final of the compilation is an old song of the “Center”, called “Alekseev”, which is a catalog of the names of people with the same last name. Shumov updated the text - periodically the announcer’s voice recalls that this is “a list of about 149 million of the poorest people in Russia, published by Forbs magazine”. But only the “minister” somehow does not fit in here - these are not poor citizens of ours. As well as politicians.
Before recording this version, Vasily Shumov announced a contest calling his listeners to send him "the names of the professions / positions that have appeared in recent years and which sound like a newspeak ." [five]
Critical evaluation
"Alekseev" was highly appreciated in the monograph of the critic and philosopher Yevgeny Golovin "The Sentimental Madness of Rock and Roll" [6] . Golovin calls the song "a shocking composition," notes "the rapture, intoxication (in a good, sober sense of the word) visual, obvious, unequivocal documentary of Soviet life." The manner of performing songs like “Alekseev” reminds Golovin of a photograph from the honor roll. He attributes such compositions, praising "sovereign objectivity" to the genre of "concrete song." At the same time, Golovin admits that he may have “made the matter too complicated by putting a simple guy, Vasily Shumov, an existential-metaphysical backpack, on the simple guy,” and “songs like Alekseev or The Seasons” are explained either by their originality or by passing influence crazy intellectuals.
