James Colville played for the Scottish club "Annbank". In October 1892, he moved to the English club Newton Heath from Manchester (later known as Manchester United). He made his debut in the composition of "pagans "on November 12, 1892 in the First Division match against Notts County [1] . On November 26, 1892, he scored his first (and only) goal for the club in the match against Accrington Stanley [2] . I spent one season at the club, playing a total of 10 matches and scoring 1 goal [3] .
In June 1893 he moved to the English club " Fairfield ". In the future, was on view in the English club "Notts County", but the contract was not signed. In June 1895 he returned to the club "Annbank" [4] .
