Geographical position
The village of Shelukhovo is located on the Oksko-Don plain on the right bank of the Neplos river, 22 km south-west of the town of Shilovo . The distance from the village to the regional center of Shilovo by road is 27 km.
The nearest settlements are the village of Mosolovo , the villages of Frolovo and Zapolye .
Population
According to the 2010 census, 135 people live in the village of Shelukhovo. (in 1992 - 159 people [2] ).
Name Origin
The origin of the name of the settlement is currently unknown. Most likely, it is based on the surname or nickname of the first settler or owner. But documents confirming this version have not yet been found. [3]
History
The development of the village Shelukhovo began in the 1890s. in connection with the construction of the Ryazan-Syzran railway and the opening of the Shelukhovo railway station. By 1891, according to I.V. Dobrolyubov , the village of Shelukhovo, Bulatovo identity, belonged to the parish of the Assumption Church in the village of Mosolovo , and there were 56 courtyards in it. In the summer of 1941, during the Great Patriotic War , a Komsomol company was created in the village of Shelukhovo: 150 Komsomol members were engaged in military affairs, studied weapons. [five]
Transport
Along the northern outskirts of the village Shelukhovo there is a federal highway M-5 Ural : Moscow - Ryazan - Penza - Samara - Ufa - Chelyabinsk. In the immediate vicinity of the village in the neighboring village of Mosolovo is the Shelukhovo station of the Ryazan - Pichkiryayevo railway line of the Moscow Railway .
