A native of Glasgow, Adam Carson played for the local Glasgow Thistle club. In June 1892 he moved to the English club " Newton Heat " (in the future, known as "Manchester United"). Debuted as a member of "pagans ”on September 3, 1892 in the First Division match against the Blackburn Rovers [1] . October 15, 1892 participated in the club’s largest victory in the match of the top division of the championship of England: Newton Heat beat Wolverhampton Wanderers with a score of 10: 1 in the 7th round of the First Division of the Football League ; Carson scored one of the goals in this game [2] . He spent one season at the club, having played a total of 13 matches and scoring 3 goals [3] .

In March 1893, he moved to another club from Manchester, Arduik (later known as Manchester City). Spent 9 matches for the club and scored 3 goals. In February 1894 he moved to Liverpool , but did not hold official games for him [4] .
