Biography
Born on March 7, 1933 in Leningrad [3] .
In 1950 he graduated from high school with a gold medal [4] , in 1955 - the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of Leningrad State University , in 1958 - graduate school under the guidance of L. V. Kantorovich [3] .
Since 1959 he taught at the department of mathematical analysis of the university, in 1997-2004 - the head of the department of mathematical analysis [3] .
He was fluent in English, French and German [4] .
Scientific activity
In 1958 he defended his Ph.D., in 1969 - a doctoral thesis. Professor (1970) [3] .
The main areas of research [3] :
- comprehensive analysis
- harmonic analysis
- approximation theory
- potential theory.
Research Results:
- solved the old problem of V. V. Golubev on the generalized Laurent series [3] ;
- multivariate analogues of the Runge and Hartogs – Rosenthal theorems are proved [4] .
He prepared 31 candidates and 8 doctors of sciences. The author of more than 100 scientific papers [3] [4] .
