History

The first settlement of farmers arose in the area of ​​Fiskhuka in 1818 . The city was founded on the territory of the Fischook farm in 1919 [2] . In 1940, Vishuk received the status of a municipality . In 2000, the city was included in the Cape Town urban district.

Geographical position

The city is located in the southwestern part of the province, in the eastern part of the Cape Peninsula , on the banks of the Falls Bay, approximately 5 kilometers south of Cape Town , the provincial capital. The absolute height is 22 meters above sea ​​level [3] .

The climate of the city is subtropical Mediterranean . The average annual rainfall is 823 mm. Most rainfall occurs between April and October . Attractions

In the vicinity of the city is the Cape Flats Cave, in which the fossil remains of Cro-Magnons about 35 thousand years old were discovered [7] .
