Feature
Resistance is a group of soldiers and pilots who entered the battle with the First Order, many years after the Battle of Endor. The organization is led by General Leia Organa , who was one of the few living leaders of the Alliance for the Restoration of the Republic since the Galactic Civil War. Resistance starfighter squadrons included: The Blue Squadron, of which Jessica Pava was a member flying under the call sign Blue 3 and the Black Squadron, whose member was Poe Dameron , flying under the call sign Black Leader. Members of the Resistance were also Major Kaluan Ematt, droids: C-3PO , R2-D2 and PZ-4CO. Many members of the organization were attendants who monitored the working condition of star fighters and droids at the Resistance base.
As a symbol of the struggle against the First Order, the Resistance chose the star bird that had previously been used by the Rebel Alliance. Resistance pilots also accepted the symbol in the organization - they applied it to their helmets, which they put on, piloting their T-70 X-wing fighters during battles. Resistance soldiers preferred to use partisan tactics to combat the forces of the First Order, retreating and delivering lightning strikes.
History
After the battles of Endor (shown in The Return of the Jedi ) and Jakku (depicted in the novel ), the ended in victory for the Rebel Alliance . Winners, following in the footsteps of the Old Republic , created the . The remnants of the Galactic Empire were pushed into several sectors on the outskirts of the Outer Ring, in which there was only a small part of the population and industrial base of the galaxy, nevertheless still continuing to exist and carry a threat. Having decided that it was not practical to storm the underdeveloped, but well-fortified sectors, the New Republic proposed to the Empire a peace treaty, which was signed on Coruscant , entering history as the Galactic Agreement. According to him, the Empire ceased hostilities against the New Republic and officially capitulated. The agreement also defined the new borders of the Empire with the latter's refusal of claims to the Core and Coruscant, prohibited the recruitment and mobilization of attack aircraft , closed imperial academies, and prohibited racial discrimination and torture. Ultimately, the vast majority of the worlds that belonged to the Empire, including Coruscant, the former imperial capital, became part of the New Republic. As a result, members of the Galactic Senate were divided into populists and centrists. The former advocated the demobilization of military forces and the spread of democratic values, while the latter were former supporters of the Empire and, on the contrary, put forward the idea of building up military power and centralizing power. The hostility of these parties brought the Galactic Senate into a state of complete futility.
The remnants of the Empire were led by an adherent of the Dark Side of the Force Snowk , who created the First Order on the ruins of the once powerful state, which carried the heritage of the Empire and represented a threat to the Republic. The new formation gradually restored its military power in violation of the peace treaty. To do this, the First Order secretly expanded its borders at the expense of Unknown Regions (uncharted areas in the west of the Galaxy), capturing new undeveloped worlds to replenish its resource base, as well as build new shipyards and industrial infrastructure far from the eyes of the New Republic. Despite this, the strongly demilitarized New Republic did not consider the First Order as a real threat and ignored it, therefore, to combat the growing threat, a group of rebel veterans led by General Leia Organa decided to create a militarized organization called the Resistance .
The core of the Resistance was the veterans of the struggle with the Empire, and their leader, the Organ, became a symbol for the members of the organization, inspiring each of them. Members were recruited from the army of the New Republic, as well as from worlds that experienced the worst of the Empire and the First Order. The authorities of the New Republic tolerated the Resistance, not officially supporting it, although secretly some members of the Senate of the Republic, sharing the concerns of the Authorities and its associates, financed and armed them.
