Pogodin's House - a house in Rostov-on-Don, in which from 1921 to 1924 the playwright N.F. Pogodin lived and worked (Sotsialisticheskaya St., 50 a). Refers to identified cultural monuments.

History
Russian Soviet scriptwriter and playwright, Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR (1949), Lenin Prize winner (1959) and two Stalin Prizes (1941, 1951) Nikolai Fedorovich Pogodin - author of the trilogy about V. I. Lenin “A Man with a Gun” (1937), “ Kremlin chimes ”(1940),“ Third Pathetic ”(1958) since 1920 worked in the Rostov newspaper“ Labor Life ”. He lived in an old building on the street Socialist. In 1925 he went to live in Moscow.
Near the main entrance to the building where the playwright lived in Rostov-on-Don, in 1971 a memorial plaque was installed with the inscription: “In this house in 1921 - 1924. the outstanding Soviet playwright Nikolai Fedorovich Pogodin (Stukalov) lived. ” The memorial appearance of the playwright’s room has now been lost.
Architecture
The house in which the playwright N.F. Pogodin lived is located on 50a Sotsialisticheskaya Street (formerly B. Nikolskaya). The house was built at the end of the 19th century and was rebuilt in the 2nd half of the 40s of the XX century.
The house is three-story, brick, plastered. The ground floor contrasts with the upper shades of gray. The facade of the building has side and central clasps, ending with attics. The architectural appearance of this facade is determined by the rustication of all floors, castle stones above the window openings, the decoration of the front door and the semi-circular window, interfloor and crowning cornices, balconies of the 2nd and 3rd floors with openwork grilles, interfloor rods and a profiled cornice. The main entrance to the building is located in its right part.
In terms of a house of complex configuration, the basis of the layout is made up of sections of apartments, grouped around a staircase. The building has semi-basement facilities. The first floor is occupied by a cosmetic campaign with two separate entrances from the front.
