Zhyldyz Duyshekeevna Akayeva , the literary pseudonym is Bek Zhyldyz (born August 22, 1958) is a Kyrgyz children's writer, author of books for children, including literary heroes Akylay and Aktan, winner of the Togolok Moldo Prize.

Biography
The early years
Zhyldyz Akayeva was born in the city of Frunze (now Bishkek) in the family of an employee on August 18, 1958 (according to the passport on August 22). According to the writer, she grew up in the warm atmosphere of a family idyll. Grandmother and grandfather, who lived on the banks of the Shamshy River, which is located in the Chui region near the city of Tokmok , had a great influence on its formation. Zhyldyz believes that communication with nature on the picturesque bank of the river contributed to the development of love for nature.
Beginning of creative activity
An important role in the development of literary work in Zhyldyz was played by the eloquent stories of grandmother Zhukosh, the wise conversations of grandfather Zhusup, the tales of an old neighbor and the stories of an older sister Daria, whom she had been surrounded since childhood. She early entered the magical world of fairy tales, which could be accessed by reading Kyrgyz folklore. Impressive Zhyldyz was shocked by this discovery.
The first poem "Native Corner" was written at 10 years old.
After graduating from school No. 24 in Bishkek, Zhyldyz entered the Kalinin State University (now Tver University, Russia) at the Faculty of Philology. Classical philological education helped the future writer to get acquainted with world literature, to plunge into the philological atmosphere. The first stories were written as a student. These were childhood impressions of life on the river bank. Later, these stories were included in the collection "Apple-surprise", which was published in 2004 under the pseudonym Bek Zhyldyz. After graduating from the university, Zhyldyz got married and for a year she taught Russian to foreign students of the Kalinin Medical Institute (now the city of Tver). Then she moved to live in the city of Osh, in the south of Kyrgyzstan, where she lived for 17 years. She worked at the Osh Pedagogical Institute. She returned to the capital after perestroika in 1997. According to Zhyldyz Akayeva, fairy tales about the environment appeared thanks to her son Bekzhan. He was interested in listening to his mother’s stories, which she composed on walks or at bedtime. Every day, the son bombarded his mother with countless "why" and Zhyldyz did not have time to answer the baby's endless questions. Then the idea of creating an intellectual series of books was born, which came to life years later, thanks to cooperation with the education program of the Aga Khan Foundation. So, toy books with environmental riddles were developed, and subsequently, encyclopedias for children 5-10 years old: “Kooz Kitep”, “Keremet Kitep”, “Sonun Kitep”, “Tarykh Kitep”, published with financial assistance from the “Aga Fund” Khan ”In 1999, Zhyldyz Akayeva was offered the job of the chief specialist of the international department at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. Interesting work, meetings with people, trips abroad only strengthened the desire to write for children. Colleagues read her stories to children, helping to test the written. Over 10 years of work in the Ministry, the writer, with the financial support of international organizations, has prepared and published 97 children's books. Among them is the famous series of books about Akylai and Aktan, written in collaboration with the famous poetess Subayilda Abdykadyrova and published by the UNICEF Children's Fund. In 2006, Zhyldyz Akayeva became a member of the National Writers Union of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The writer constantly participated in competitions held by the Aga Khan Foundation and other international organizations. So, the fairy tale "Song of Friendship", which was invented by the goose, was translated into Russian, Uzbek, Tajik and English. The English version of the book was included in the 25 best fairy tales.
In 2014, her story “Where the Stars Bathe” was translated into Tajik and published in the children's magazine “Chashma” in Dushanbe.
In 2012, the story “Chiy Kuurchak” - about a homemade Kyrgyz doll made of buttons, sticks and shreds, the writer was awarded the Togolok Moldo Prize of the National Writers Union of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In 2013, by the order of the Aga Khan Foundation, the book “Menin toolu mekenim” was written, containing cognitive information about Kyrgyzstan. Currently, the writer has written a trilogy about teenagers: “Gop-stop”, or “Our zebra”, “I love ...”, “Web”. Her characters know how to win, to get out of various situations, to boldly accept the modern challenges of life. A series of ecological fairy tales about the ant Mu was already loved by Kyrgyz children long before the publication, as the writer conducted the first reading to children when she traveled to distant villages and jailoo in the mountains. Well, the kind and inquisitive kitten Mymymy meets new friends, helps them and teaches children to be kind. Kumurska Ku (Ant Mu), Kumurska Ku jana chegirtke Cheki (Ant Mu and the grasshopper Cheki), Dostor (Dostor), Kuu kөpөlөk (Tricky Butterfly), Aba-yrayyn bilgichter (Weather Foretellers), Kyshky okuya (Winter History), (Good neighbor) and other fairy tales are included in the collection of fairy tales published in 2016.
Social and professional activities
After graduating from Kalinin State University in 1980, Zhyldyz Akayeva taught Russian to foreign students at the Kalinin Medical Institute (now Tver Medical University).
From 1982 to 1997 she taught the theory of the Russian language at the Osh Pedagogical University. From 1999 to 2010, she worked at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic in various positions, including the position of head of the international department, and then chief specialist of the educational book publishing department. From 2004 to 2005, she worked concurrently at UVK No. 24 as an ethics teacher. In 2011, she was elected Executive Secretary of the National Writers Union, where she currently works. Over the years of her literary activity, Zhyldyz Akayeva has taken and is actively involved in the social and cultural life of the country. She organizes literary meetings of readers with children's writers, holds youth festivals, literary holidays for children, presentations of books, she herself meets with readers. Speaker on radio and television. The writer attended more than 20 seminars on the problems of children's literature.
An active civic position helps the children's writer Zhyldyz Akayeva to keep abreast of all the events that affect children. So, she wrote the story “Ice Cream” on preventing violence against children, which was included in the collection of short stories for teens, published by the League for the Protection of Children.
Currently, the children's writer Zhyldyz Akayeva is full of energy and continues to implement his ideas in creativity.
