Biography
He studied acting at the University of California, Santa Barbara , and was also a member of the university surfing team [1] .
He made his debut as an actor in 1984. He was best known for his role as Nathaniel in the cult criminal action movie “ On the crest of a wave ” [2] . He was a surfing instructor on the set of John Stockwell ’s Blue Wave movie in 2002.
In 2014 he acted as an associate producer in the film "The Trip".
Legal issues
February 28, 2015 Philbin was arrested in Los Angeles. He was swinging a loaded weapon during an argument with his girlfriend. The actor could get out of custody on bail of 25 thousand dollars. As a result, he was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 30 days (released after 26 days) and a probationary sentence of 3 years. Philbin was also required to attend anger management courses [3] [4] .
