Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located in the northwestern part of the Ikryaninsky district. The distance to Astrakhan in a straight line is 48 kilometers (to the city center), to the regional center and the center of the village council of Ikryanoye village - 13 kilometers [2] .

History
In 1969, by a decree of the Presidium of the Armed Forces of the RSFSR, the village of the Karabulak fish factory was renamed Karabulak [4] .
