Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located in the central part of the Volga region on the banks of the Krivaya Bolda River. The distance to Astrakhan is 20 kilometers (to the city center), to the regional center and the center of the rural settlement of the village of Nachalova - 7 kilometers [2] .

History
In 1969, by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the village of farm No. 2 of the collective farm named after the Six Fallen Communards was renamed Ivanovsky [4] .
