Biography
A pupil of the Novosibirsk biathlon, he began training in the ski section at school No. 190. The first coach, A. Chepurov, also trained under the direction of A. P. Nikiforov and Ya. V. Kazantsev. He played for the sports club of the Armed Forces and the city of Novosibirsk .
At the World Cup level , he made his debut in the 1996/97 season at the stage in Novosibirsk, took 30th place in the individual race, and scored the first points in the sprint to offset the World Cup, finishing 25th.
At the 1997 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Krakow, he became the silver medalist in the relay as part of the Russian team. A year later, at the summer world championships in Osrbli, he took 35th place in the sprint and 26th in the pursuit, but did not play in the relay.
In the 2001/02 season, after a five-year break, he returned to the first national team of Russia and took part in the World Cup races. In his first race of the season - the sprint at the stage in Hochfilzen - took 20th place and scored points. In the mass start at the stage in Oberhof, he showed his best career result in personal appearances, taking fourth place. At the next stage, in Ruhpolding , he first climbed the podium, taking third place in the relay as part of the Russian team. He performed at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , took 33rd place in the sprint and 31st in the pursuit.
In the 2002/03 season he continued to play at the World Cup. He won his only victory in the mixed relay at the stage in Ruhpolding , as part of the Russian team, together with Anna Bogaliy , Olga Zaitseva and Sergey Bashkirov . In personal races, he only scored points twice, taking 15th place in the individual race in Anterselva and 30th in the pursuit in Ostersund .
In the 2003/04 season, he played only at the IBU Cup , and at the end of the season he stopped performing at the international level.
At the championship level of Russia, he became the champion in the relay (2001 [1] , 2003) and the team race (2005), the silver medalist in the mass start (2001) [2] , the team race (2003 [3] , 2004) and the mixed relay ( 2005), a bronze medalist in 2004 in the relay and patrol races.
