This is the last album recorded by the band before its “temporary collapse” in 1985, and also the last with the participation of the original bass player Alan Lancaster and the drummer Pete Kircher . The first single, Ol 'Rag Blues, was written by Lancaster with Keith Lamb , lead singer of the British bands The Case, Sleepy Talk and Mr. Toad, as well as the founder and vocalist of the successful Australian glam rock band Hush. Lancaster was outraged when the record company refused to release a version of the song with its vocals (it was later added to the 2005 reissue of the album as a bonus track) and preferred the version with Francis Rossi's vocal. He also did not hide his dislike of the song “Marguerita Time”, which in his opinion was too pop-oriented for the group. When the band played this song on the BBC Top of the Pops , it was replaced by Jim Lee from Slade , who at that time also participated in the show. Especially on this performance, Rick Parfitt distinguished himself, who at the end of the song fell on the Kircher drum set, while the phonogram with the song continued to play. Later on the Hello Quo DVD, Parfitt claimed to have planned this action, while people thought he was drunk. On the same DVD, Alan Lancaster said that he was upset not so much because of “Marguerita Time”, but because of the song “Going Down Town Tonight”, which he said was not a Status Quo song, as none of the musicians besides Francis Rossi himself did not participate in her recording.
