Shebenik-Yablanitsa National Park ( Alb. Parku Kombëtar Shebenik-Jabllanicë ) is a national park located in the eastern part of the Elbasan region in central Albania . The park covers an area of more than 339 km² and is bordered by the Republic of Macedonia [1] . The altitude varies from 300 m to more than 2,200 m at the Šebenik peak, which, along with Mount Yablanitsa, gave the name to the park. The national park is one of the youngest in Albania, it was created in 2008. The park is inhabited by a large number of different animal species, rarely found in Albania, among them a brown bear , a gray wolf and a disappearing Balkan lynx [2] . In addition, a number of endemic and rare plants grow in the park. The nearest cities to the park are Librazhd and Prenas.

Content
Geography
Two large and many small rivers flow through the territory of the national park. The largest rivers Kirishta and Bushtritsa have a length of about 22 km.
There are at least 14 glacial lakes on the territory, the highest of which is located at an altitude of about 1900 m [3] .
The climate is predominantly Mediterranean with an average annual temperature of 7 ° C to 10 ° C. Annual precipitation ranges from 1,300 mm to 1,800 mm depending on the location in the park [3]
Wildlife and Ecology
The park is home to a large number of various rare and endemic species of plants, animals and fungi.
Flora
The park contains beech, fir, pine, oak, as well as such species as purple willow, Norway maple , hanging birch and white fir on the northern slopes of the park area.
Fauna
The national park is one of the main remaining habitats of the endangered Balkan lynx , a subspecies of the common lynx . On April 21, 2011, the PPNEA research team took the first photo of a live Balkan lynx living within the boundaries of a national park [4] . The brown bear , gray wolf , chamois , wild boar , river otter also live here. Of the birds inhabit the golden eagle , capercaillie and grouse .
