“Prelude” is the third mini-album of the South Korean girl group APRIL , released on January 4, 2017 by DSP Media, and distributed by LOEN Entertainment. This is the first return of a group of six with the addition of Chekyon and Rachel, after Somin officially left in November 2015 and Hyunju in October next year.

Background and Release
On December 20, 2016, DSP Media confirmed that APRIL will release their third mini-album, Prelude, on January 4, 2017. [1] [2] The album title Prelude represents the new beginning of the group, with their new line-up consisting of Chekyon, Chavon, Nayn, Yena, Rachel and Jeansol. [3] [4] The next day, the album’s tracklist was released, which included 9 tracks with 5 new songs, a rewritten version of 3 of their previous tracks: “Dream Candy”, “Muah!” And “Snowman”, and also an instrumental version of the title track. On December 27, they unveiled their fans with two conceptual images of the group, which were later released. The first follows a pretty and innocent way, and the second shows an still innocent, but more mature side. [7] On December 28, APRIL released a teaser featuring Rachel, who showed the key dance movement choreographic movements and also showed that the title track of the album is “April Story”. [8] [9]
On December 30, videos were released for Jisol, [10] [11] [12] [13] Chekyon and Rachel, followed by Nayn, Chavon and Jena on December 31. On January 1, 2017, a vibrant collection of five new songs from the third mini-album was released. [14]
Promotion
From January 1st to 3rd, Chekyon, Chavon, Nayn, Yena, Rachel and Jisol held a series of live performances on the V-app Naver channel. On January 3, MV released “April Story” on the band’s YouTube channel. [15]
On January 4, the group also hosted a live live demo for Prelude on V-app Naver. January 6, APRIL performed at Music Bank , M! Countdown channel KBS, Music Core channel MBC and Inkigayo (SBS). On January 19, a special choreography was released on the April Story. [sixteen]
On February 14, 2017, the band performed the APINK LUV Special Stage for the 100th episode of SBS MTV The Show . Starting February 16th, the band performed on M! Countdown (Mnet), the WOW series of special stages that also appears on the Prelude album. [17]
