Biography
Education
He graduated from three universities: Kazakh Institute of Chemical Technology in 1983 (civil engineer), Shymkent University in 2004 (lawyer) and Karaganda University of Economics in 2005 (economist).
Professional Activities
From 1983 to 1984 he worked as a foreman at the Dzhambul department of the Kazstalkonstruktsiya trust, from 1984 to 1996 he worked as an employee of the Sredaztransstroy trust, he went from a construction foreman to a chief engineer. From 1996 to 2001 he was the head of Turkestanstroymontazh JSC and the deputy Akim of Turkestan. From 2001 to 2008 he worked in the city of Arys, holding the posts of head of the department of construction, architecture and development of the territory, as well as the department of land relations under the akim of the city of Arys; later served as akim. In 2008, Taukebaev was appointed state inspector of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From February 19 to October 2009 - Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Migration of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2009 to 2012, he served as deputy akim of the East Kazakhstan region.
February 3, 2012 was appointed to the post of Akim of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk [1] . During the akimat’s work, Serik Taukebaev managed to transfer to the state ownership of the Metallurg Culture Center, the Metallurg culture and leisure park, and approved free travel in public transport for senior citizens over 70 years of age [2] . On May 18, 2013, he was relieved of his post, according to the official version, due to health problems that arose after heart surgery [3] . A number of political scientists believe that Taukebayev chose a good reason to resign and avoid interrogations in connection with the theft of 1.5 billion tenge allocated for the construction of schools in Ust-Kamenogorsk [4] .
