Biography
Pauline Etienne was born on June 26, 1989 and grew up in the town of Ixelles in Belgium. Pretty early, she began to be interested in music and theater, as a teenager, she studied at the theater workshop.
Pauline Etienne began her acting career in 2008 in a small role in Joachim Lafoss ’s film “ Private Lessons ” for which she received the Belgian national film award “Magritte” as the most promising young actress [1] . In 2009, the actress starred with Reda Kateb in the film “ We only need to stand a day ... ”, having received the French film award “Lumiere” and “Golden Star of Cinema” from the French Academy of Film Press for their work in the film.
Pauline became widely known after filming in 2010 in one of the main roles in the French psychological thriller by Gilles Marchand " Black Skies " with Gregoire Leprens-Renge and Louise Bourgoin .
In 2011, the actress starred in the television drama Life in French , directed by Jean-Pierre Sinap based on the novel of the same name by Jean-Paul Dubois. In the film “The Nun, ” Pauline Etienne worked with Isabelle Huppert and Francoise Lebrun . This film by the French director Guillaume Niklou, filmed in 2013 based on the Didro title of the same name, was nominated for the Golden Bear Award at the 63rd Berlin Film Festival, while Pauline Etienne herself was nominated for two prestigious French awards - Cesar and Lumiere the category “Most Promising Actress” and for the “Magritte” award for Best Actress [2] .
One of the last works of Pauline Etienne in the movie is the role in Stephen Libersky’s film “ Tokyo Bride ”, where the actress played the main character - the young girl Ameli Notomb, who travels to Japan, the country of her childhood, to find inspiration and write a book there. For this film, the actress was nominated for the third time for the Magritte Prize and the second time in the category "Best Actress" [3] .
