- On November 15, 1907, a section of line 5 was opened (Jacques Bonservant - Gare du Nord). On April 21, 1908, line 4 hall was added to it on the Chatelet - Port de Klinyankur section. On November 5, 1910, they added a section of line 7 of the Opera - Port de la Villette, which finally formed a transfer hub.
- In the RATP passenger flow analytics data from 2004 to 2013, the Gar de l'Est interchange hub consistently ranked fifth in terms of passenger flow: in 2004, about 15.66 million passengers [2] . In 2011, this indicator was 19671320 people [3] , and in 2013 - 19989528 people [4] .
Design Features and Track Development
- Halls of lines 5 and 7 have a special design. In the western part of the platform, lines 5 in the direction of Bobigny - Pablo Picasso and lines 7 in the direction of La Courneuve - on May 8, 1945 are combined, forming a cross-platform joint without reconnecting the tracks, while the platforms of the other directions do not have such a feature. The eastern parts of the platforms were built according to a standard single-vault design. On the west side between the lines there is an anti-wool congress.
- The hall of line 4 was built according to a standard design, but perpendicular to the change between lines 5 and 7.
