Japan

In Japan , Golden Week ( Jap. 大型 連 休 :: Gata Ranky:) , also called Golden Week ( Jap. ゴ ー ル デ ン ウ ク ク ク go: ruden vi: ku ) falls on Showa Day (the birthday of Emperor Hirohito, from 1988 to 2006 was called Day Zeleny , April 29 ), Constitution Day ( May 3 ), Green Day (Day of the founding of the state, from 1985 to 2006 was simply called Public Holiday, May 4 ) and Children's Day ( May 5 ). As a rule, most employers in Japan give an extra weekend to their employees this week, so life during this holiday almost stops.

China

In China, two Golden Weeks are celebrated:

  • Spring Festival (three weeks from the 23rd of the 12th month to the 15th of the 1st month of the lunar calendar ; in 2019 : from February 5 to February 19 ); [one]
  • Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China ( October 1 ).

Since 2008, the third “Golden Week” on the occasion of Labor Day , which began on May 1 and lasted seven days, has been reduced to one day.

South Korea

In South Korea, arranged a "Grand South Korean sale" for foreigners. [2]
