Japan
In Japan , Golden Week ( Jap. 大型 連 休 :: Gata Ranky:) , also called Golden Week ( Jap. ゴ ー ル デ ン ウ ク ク ク go: ruden vi: ku ) falls on Showa Day (the birthday of Emperor Hirohito, from 1988 to 2006 was called Day Zeleny , April 29 ), Constitution Day ( May 3 ), Green Day (Day of the founding of the state, from 1985 to 2006 was simply called Public Holiday, May 4 ) and Children's Day ( May 5 ). As a rule, most employers in Japan give an extra weekend to their employees this week, so life during this holiday almost stops.
China
In China, two Golden Weeks are celebrated:
