Vinnikovsky Forest (Vinnikovsky Forest Park, Ukrainian: Vinnikivsky Lis ) is a forest in the territory subordinate to the Lviv City Council ( Ukraine ), along Lychakivska Street from the border of the city itself to the borders of the city of Vinniki . In the landscape plan, the Vinnikovsky forest is located on the hills of the Davidov Ridge (another name is Rastochye ), as well as to the north of it, Small Polesie , and to the south - the Lviv Opole .
The total area of 2799 hectares, the area of the Vinnikovsky forest reserve created in 1984 - 848 hectares.
The basis of the forest is planted with pine and beech .
In the forest there are Devil's (Chatovy) rocks , a monument of history and nature. Vinnikovsky forest is popular among cycling enthusiasts.
In Vinnikovsky Forest Park there is also the Honey Cave ( Medunitsa ) - a monument of Lviv nature, consisting of two caves, hollowed out in a stone quarry in 1850 . The name comes from the yellowish, like honey , color of limestone , in the thickness of which caves formed. Two large halls of the cave are connected by a passage.
