Champagne cocktail is an alcoholic cocktail based on champagne , brandy and Angostur bitter . It is classified as a carbonated cocktail [1] [2] . History
The cocktail recipe mentioned by the “professor” Jerry Thomas and the dandy companion (1862) does not contain brandy or cognac and is considered a “classic” American version [4] .
Examples of the use of the Champagne cocktail are found in the movies:
- " Casablanca " ( born Casablanca ) - a 1942 Hollywood romantic movie drama directed by director Michael Curtis ;
- The Thin Man or The Thin Man is a 1934 comedic detective about the adventures of spouses, private detectives Nick and Nora Charles. A film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Dashil Hammett .
Recipe and Ingredients
Composition [1] [2] :
- champagne (chilled) - 90 ml
- brandy (or cognac) - 10 ml
- bitter " Angostura " - 2 des (2 drops)
- sugar - 1 piece
- orange - one slice
- cocktail cherry - 1 piece.
Method of preparation: build . Served in a champagne glass.
2 drops of Angostura bitter are dripped onto a piece of sugar and placed on the bottom of the glass, then cognac and champagne are added. Ready cocktail as a side dish is decorated with an orange slice and cocktail cherries.
