Biography
Graduated from Kiev University in 1962 .
He works at the Institute of Linguistics. A. A. Potebni of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine : Senior Researcher (since 1978 ), Head of the Russian Language Department (since 1987 ).
Scientific activity
Explores the issues of Ukrainian and Russian lexicography, lexicology, comparable typological Ukrainian-Russian morphology, word formation, syntax.
Major works: monographs (in Russian) “Means of expression of negation in Russian and Ukrainian languages” (1978), “Lexical and grammatical semantics of a noun” (1990), a number of articles ( “N. G. Chernyshevsky and the development of the Ukrainian literary language”, 1978, and others).
Co-author of the “Dictionary of the Ukrainian language in 11 volumes” (vol. 8, 1977) and the “Dictionary of the language of Russian works by T. G. Shevchenko” (vol. 1-2, 1985–86; State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR in the field of science and technology , 1989 ) .
Scientific editor of the “Dictionary of the Ukrainian language in 20 volumes” (vol. 1, 2010).
