Momoland ( cor. 모모 랜드 , often styled as MOMOLAND or MMLD) is a South Korean girl band formed in 2016 by Dublekick Company (current MLD Entertainment) through the reality show " Finding Momoland " of Mnet TV channel.

History
2016: The debut of Welcome to Momoland.
The band's debut demonstration took place on November 9th. On November 10, they released their first mini-album, “Welcome to Momoland,” with the title track, “Jjan Koong Kwang,” and debuted on M! Countdown
2017: Change in lineup, “Wonderful Love ” and “ Freeze”.
On April 4, in one of the epithets of the drama tvN Liar and His Lover, the group appeared in one of the moments in which they were interns preparing for their debut at the fictional entertainment agency Soul Music, and played their debut performance with the title track “Jjan Koong Kwang. "
On March 13, it was announced that Daisy (the original member of Finding Momoland but dropped out) and Teha (former member of Produce 101) joined the group, expanding the group to nine members. On April 25, the band returned through The Show, and released their first album, Wonderful Love. In the same year, June 3, KBS 2TV Music Bank played the EDM version of "Wonderful Love", which was released as a digital single on June 16.
On July 22, the band performed the EDM version of Wonderful Love on The Show. On August 22, 2017, they released their second mini-album, “Freeze!”, And its title track, “Freeze,” and performed on “The Show” the same day.
2018: Great! ", Rising popularity, debut in Japan," Fun to The World "
On January 3, 2018, the band returned with their third mini-album “Great!” And the title single “BBoom BBoom”. In the same month, Russian women's group Serebro accused MOMOLAND of plagiarizing her song “Mi Mi Mi”. The song's composer, Shinsadong Tiger, denied these allegations, indicating that "the bass line (usually) is heard in the retro house or in the genres of swing, as well as in the 4-stanza chord." January 11th, they won their first award at the Mnet's M! Countdown . "
On February 28, the band released the album MOMOLAND - The Best (Korean Ver.) In Japan, consisting of Japanese versions of their songs, including JJan! Koong! Kwong, Freeze, Wonderful Love, and BBoom BBoom. They then held promotions in Tokyo and Osaka from February 28 to March 4, 2018, gathering 25,000 spectators over four days. Approximately 100 media outlets also participated in a demonstration held at Tower Records in Shibuya. The group also signed with King Records to release their upcoming debut single, “BBoom BBoom” in Japan on June 13, 2018.
In June, MOMOLAND starred in their first reality show called “Saipan Land.” The group starred for a show in May when they were in Saipan for their music video of their Japanese version of “BBoom BBoom”. Participants were given 48 hours of free time, and they went to various events. They also confessed to each other and revealed the facts why they could not get through this reality show. Rshow consisted of only 5 episodes.
On June 26, 2018, MOMOLAND released their fourth mini-album called “Fun to the World” with a dance track created by Shinsadong Tiger, who also shot “BBoom BBoom” from the third mini-album “Great!”.
Label change
The label MOMOLAND officially changed its name to "MLD Entertainment", which translates as "dreams come true."
2019: New Show Me
On March 14, the group’s agency announced: “It was decided that MOMOLAND, Tekha and Daisy, will take a break during the promotion of this album for health reasons and personal reasons, so that the upcoming return will be a seven-member cast. The two members will return to their group activities with the release of their next album. ”
The fifth mini-album of the band "Show Me" was released on March 20, 2019. The title track for this album was the song "I'm so hot."
