Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located in the southwestern part of the Krasnoyarsk region. The distance to Astrakhan is 32 kilometers (to the city center), to the district center of the village of Krasny Yar - 27 kilometers, to the administrative center of the rural settlement of the village of Novourusovka - 5 kilometers [2] .
The climate is sharply continental , with hot and arid summers and snowless windy, sometimes with great cold, winters. According to the Köppen-Geiger classification of climates, the type of climate is semi - arid (BSk index).

The delta, like the entire Astrakhan region, is located in the time zone MSC + 1 ( Samara time ). The offset of the applied time relative to UTC is +4: 00 [3] . |
History
In 1969, by a decree of the Presidium of the Armed Forces of the RSFSR, the village of the Delta railway station was renamed Delta [4] .

51% of the population are Russians , the remaining forty-nine are divided between Kazakhs , Astrakhan Tatars and other ethnic groups [10] .
Transport
Near the village there is a large Delta railway station. Daily commuter trains pass through the station, following the route Aksarayskaya II - Kutum and vice versa, Delta - Kutum . The long-distance train Grozny - Volgograd also stops at the station.
Two kilometers east of the village, behind Talnikov there is a highway through which buses run connecting the village with Astrakhan, Aksaraysky , Akhtubinsky , Kharabali , Sasykoly , Vishnev , Zavolzhsky , River , Lower Baskunchak and Dosang .
