Biography
Date of birth is unknown.
For many years, Alexander Mikhailovich was a magistrate and presided at congresses of magistrates. He was an assistant to the Rostov head Baykov A. M. [1]
He himself was the mayor of Rostov from December 1873 to May 1874, when P.R. Maksimov prematurely resigned from this post [2] , and when A.K. Krivoshein was elected to the mayor as a new composition of the city council. On May 7, 1879, the Rostov-on-Don Duma βunanimously decided: by expressing to the vowel, the college adviser A.M. Batashev deep appreciation for his beneficial activities for the benefit of society, to ask him to accept the title of honorary citizen of Rostov. " [3]
He died in 1889 . A. M. Batashev bequeathed his capital to the city for scholarships of cadets of the nautical classes named after Kotzebue, where he was a member of the public council from the very beginning of the opening of classes (1876).
The memory of Alexander Batashev was immortalized in the name of the street of Rostov-on-Don, which bore his name until the 1920s. Currently it is called Adyghe. [four]
