“ Tonight's the Night ” is a song by the American girl group Shirelles . It was released as a separate single in 1960. Then it became the first track of their 1961 album Tonight's the Night . (It was the second single, then included in this album - after " Dedicated to the One I Love ", released in 1959.)

A single with this song was released in September 1960 [2] . In the USA, the song reached 39th place on the Billboard Hot 100 and 14th place in the genre rhythm and blues chart of the same Billboard magazine. By 1961, the single became US gold sales [1] .
Shortly after the single Shirelles came out, re-chops performed by Chiffons appeared on store shelves, with a similar arrangement and style with which the original Shirelles had to compete [3] . The Chiffons version reached number 76 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming their first hit. [4]
