Story
The book is about the lives of four friends - the lawyer Jude, the actor Willem, the artist JB, and the architect Malcolm. Beginning as the usual life story of four friends, the plot gradually focuses on Jude’s life, on the psychological traumas he received as a child, and on his relationship with Willem and his acquired family.

In the US, the novel received positive reviews from The New Yorker [3] , The Wall Street Journal [4] , The New York Times [4] , Los Angeles Times [5] and other publications. [6] Chania Yanagihara appeared on the television show “Late Night. Literary Salon ” [7] .
In 2015, the book entered the short list of the Booker Prize , reached the final of the US National Book Award. Also “Little Life” was awarded the “Art Book of the Year” award by Kirkus magazine [8] .
In Russia
In Russia, the novel was released on November 24, 2016 in the Corpus publishing house with a circulation of 5,000 copies (translators by Alexander Borisenko, Anastasia Zavozova and Viktor Sonkin ) [9] . He received wide publicity in the Runet : Internet journal Gorky [10] , Meduza [11] and other publications [12] [13] [14] wrote about him, and Afisha.Daily publication called the book the most important novel of the year [15] .
