Biography

Born in Adan in the family of Huseyin Avni and his wife Rabia. After the end of World War I, Adana was occupied by the French, so the family of Mustafa Inana was forced to move to Konya . After the end of the war for the independence of Turkey, they returned to Adana. In 1931, Mustafa Inan passed the entrance exams at Istanbul Technical University . He was later sent to study in Switzerland, where he studied at the Higher Technical School of Zurich . After returning from Switzerland in 1941, he resumed his studies at Istanbul Technical University [1] . In 1944 he served in the army, after the end of the service he married Jale Inan , who was the first female archaeologist in Turkey. He taught at the Istanbul Technical University, in 1954-1957 he was the dean, in 1957-1959 - the rector. In 1963, he was elected a member of the scientific committee of the Council of Turkey for Scientific and Technical Research , and later served as chairman of the committee [2] . He died on August 5, 1967 in Freiburg. He was buried at the Zinjirlikuyu cemetery in Istanbul [3] .
