Biography
She received a master's degree in land improvement at the Rennes (previously she became a bachelor of philology). Since 1973, she was engaged in scientific work at the Society of Mixed Economy of the Northern Finister [1] .
In the early 70s, she took up politics in the United Socialist Party , in 1977 she joined the Socialist Party. From 1978 to 1993 she was the parliamentary assistant to the deputy of the French National Assembly and the socialist mayor Anvik . In 1983, she was elected deputy of the Municipal Council of Morlaix , in 1995 she became mayor of this city [2] .
In 1986, elected to the regional council of Brittany.
On June 1, 1997, in the second round of parliamentary elections, she was elected to the National Assembly from the 4th district of the Department of Finister, ahead of 52.65% of the holder of the post - Arnaud d'Oninctuna from the Union for French Democracy . On June 4, 1997, she was appointed Secretary of State of the Ministry of Trade for Small and Medium Enterprises , Crafts and Trade in the Government of Lionel Jospin [3] .
On July 4, 1997, she passed her deputy mandate.
On October 18, 2000, staff changes were made in the Jospin government, during which Lebranchue received the portfolio of the Minister of Justice [4] .
On May 6, 2002, the Jospin government ceased to exist.
On June 12, 2002, LeBranche was again a deputy of the French National Assembly.
From 2004 to 2010 she was vice president of the Brittany Regional Council.
On December 21, 2005, she resigned from the parliamentary commission to investigate the causes of judicial inaction in the scandal over discovered cases of pedophilia in the Morning ( Affaire d'Outreau ), since the investigation of crimes began during her tenure as Minister of Justice [5] .
In 2010, she headed the , and was once again re-elected to the Brittany Regional Council.
On May 16, 2012, having earned a reputation as a loyal companion of Dominic Strauss-Kahn and Martin Aubrey , she received the portfolio of the Minister of State Reform in the government of Jean-Marc Hero [6] .
Due to her government appointment, she was temporarily interrupted by a deputy’s mandate, and her place in parliament was taken by Guenegan Bui, also a socialist and a Breton [7] .
On March 31, 2014, the first Waltz government was formed, approved on April 2 by a decree of President Hollande ; In her new office, Lebranchue received the portfolio of the Minister of State Reform, Decentralization and Public Service.
On December 13, 2015, she surrendered the deputy mandate of the Brittany Regional Council.
On February 11, 2016, Lebranchue left the second Waltz government at the initiative of President Francois Hollande, who explained to her over the phone when she was traveling from the Senate to her ministry that it was necessary to include representatives of the Radical Left Party in the cabinet. Another reason for the resignation, named by the president, was the fact of the appointment of a new Minister of Justice - Jean-Jacques Jurvoas , who also represents the Finister department in parliament [8] .
On March 12, 2016 she returned to the National Assembly, where she was replaced by Guenegan Bui [9] .
In June 2017, she announced the end of her political career. [10]
Family
Since the 1970s, she has been married to a psychiatrist Jean Lebrancue [11] .
