Biography

Came from hereditary honorary citizens . He received his primary education in parish and city schools, secondary - in the Kiev 2nd gymnasium. In 1888 he graduated from the medical faculty of the University of St. Vladimir in Kiev . He worked as a resident of the Kiev obstetric clinic of the Rhine (1888-1893), as a resident of the gynecological department of the Kiev Kirillovskaya hospital. He defended a dissertation at the Military Medical Academy β€œOn the question of uterine innervation” (1904) and received a doctorate in medicine. He headed the gynecological department of the Kiev city hospital (1903-1913).

In the years 1914-1915. - Extraordinary extraordinary professor at the University of Moscow at the Department of Obstetrics, Women's and Children's Diseases, Head of the Obstetrics Clinic of the University [1] . In the years 1915-1917. - Director of the Nadezhda obstetric institution in St. Petersburg.

In 1920 he moved to Kiev, where he headed the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Kiev Medical Institute and was the director of the obstetric clinic of the Clinical Institute. Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Institute for Advanced Medical Studies (1920-1937).

In 1930-1934. - Supervisor of the Institute for the Protection of Motherhood and Infancy [2] .

Chairman of the Ukrainian and Kiev Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, honorary member of the Moscow Obstetrics and Gynecology Society, participated in Ukrainian, All-Russian, All-Union and international congresses of obstetrician-gynecologists. Member of the Presidium of the Scientific Council of the People's Health of Ukraine. Honored Worker of Science of the Ukrainian SSR (1935).

Scientific activity

G. F. Pisemsky is the author of about 60 works in Russian and foreign languages. The most important are an anatomical study on uterine innervation and a monograph on abdominal wall dermoids (1915). Most of the works are devoted to operative gynecology, including:

  • "Essays on the development of surgical gynecology and its most important tasks" (Kiev, 1908)
  • On the issue of complications after gynecological operations (Kiev, 1912)
  • Diseases of the fallopian tubes (L., 1927)
