Zhuravsky Game Reserve is a former natural reserve in the Chertkovsky district of the Rostov region . It was established in 1975 [1] and liquidated in 2005 [2] .
History
Zhuravsky hunting reserve was created in 1975 according to the Decision of the Regional Executive Committee No. 1093 of December 18, 1975. Initially, according to the documentation, its area was 12 thousand hectares [1] , then the total area of ββ13.7 thousand hectares was indicated in the documents [1] . The reserve belongs to the category of specially protected natural areas. According to the Order No. 301 dated November 7, 2005 of the Administration of the Rostov Region, the Zhuravsky hunting reserve of regional significance was eliminated [2] .
Description
The territory of the Zhuravsky hunting reserve included the tracts Shiroky, Kostrykino, Krutenky, Vedeneva, Solyony. Of the 13.7 hectares of protected area, 3,000 hectares were arable land , 6.9 thousand hectares - pasture area and 3.8 hectares - forests. In the north, the reserve is bordered by the territory from the border with the Voronezh region to the border of Verkhnedonsky district . In the east along the border of the district to the Stepny farm. From the south - from the steppe farm on the border of Shchedrovsky hunting economy. On the western side, the territory passes to the junction with the border of the Voronezh region [1] .
