Biography

In 1932, Apte graduated from Mumbai University , received a bachelor's degree, after which he began working as a teacher in Ahmednagar . During his stay in the city, he married Champ Phadtara. In 1939, Apte entered the Hindu Mahasabha movement [1] . On July 22, 1944, a group of activists led by Narayan Apte staged a protest against the policies of Mahatma Gandhi , and another similar action was later held. Apte himself believed that he could predict the future: in particular, he “predicted” that the assassination of Gandhi would somehow reunite India and Pakistan , and he himself would live to old age and be revered throughout India.

For almost six years, Narayan Apte actively collaborated with Nathuram Godze in the framework of the Hindu Mahasabha movement [1] . Apte was present at the site of the murder of Mahatma Gandhi .

He was executed by hanging together with Nathuram Godze on November 15, 1949 in the prison of the city of Ambala .
