Switzerland at Eurovision

Switzerland has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest every year since its inception, except in 1995 , 1999 , 2001 and 2003 . Switzerland hosted the first competition in 1956 , and won it.

Competition Country Profile

Although most of the Swiss representatives in the competition are unknown outside the country, two internationally recognized singers represented the country. In 1988, Celine Dion won a competition for Switzerland; in 1993 Annie Cotton finished third; and in 2005, girl group Vanilla Ninja completed their eighth performance. Recently, Switzerland has not been able to achieve better results.
