Kostelecki ( czech. Vincenz-Franz Kosteletzký , 1801–1887 ) is a professor of medical botany in Prague [1] , one of the outstanding specialists of his time [2] .

He studied medicine in Prague, in 1842 he was awarded a doctoral degree. He worked as an assistant to Johann Christian Mikan , then, after Mikan’s resignation in 1831, replaced him in a professorship. In 1852–53 and 1868 he was the rector of the university. Since 1872 - Professor Emeritus [3] . Franz Keil was a student of Kostelecki [4] .
