Marina Petrovna Mokhnacheva ( March 19, 1952 ; Moscow - October 16, 2014 ; Moscow) is a Russian historian, doctor of historical sciences, professor of the Department of Russian History of the Middle Ages and of the early modern time of the Department of Archival Studies at the Historical Archival Institute of the Russian State Humanitarian University .

Biography

Soviet period

Marina Mokhnacheva was born on March 19, 1952 in Moscow. The daughter of a military pilot Peter Ivanovich (1927-1991) and design engineer Evdokia Markovna (1927-2008).

In her youth she studied at a music school at the conservatory in the violin class. In 1969, she graduated with honors from high school No. 250 in Moscow. Her success in chemistry, history and English was especially noted in the letter. At the end of school, she also worked as a librarian in her, and later combined her work with the position of a singing teacher. She was going to go to the conservatory, but after breaking her arm she left the violin lesson.

In 1970 she entered the faculty of archival affairs of the Moscow State Historical and Archival Institute . During her studies, she was engaged in active scientific and public activities. She participated in study circles of source study, the history of state institutions, the history of the USSR, and student work contests. She was a correspondent for the wall-paper “Historian-Archivist” and was responsible for issuing newsletters of the company and organizing exhibitions. She was also a member of the Presidium of the Student Scientific Society, the Knowledge Society and the University of the Young Lecturer.

In 1975, Mokhnacheva graduated with honors from the Archival Department of MGIAI , while becoming the owner of the Komsomol Central Committee badge "For excellent study." In the same year, she was assigned to work in the Central State Archive of the RSFSR , and on December 1 she was enrolled in correspondence graduate school with a degree in historiography and source study (07.00.09) at the Department of History of the USSR of the pre-Soviet period.

On November 30, 1979, Mokhnacheva defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of historical sciences on the topic "Problems of Russian History in Democratic Journals of the Second Half of the XIX Century" [Comm. 1] . Since April 1980, she taught at the Moscow State Institute of Atomic Energy, and from November 3, having left the service at the Central Administration of the RSFSR, she was approved as an assistant to the Department of History of the USSR of the pre-Soviet period. She gave lecture courses, a special course and led seminars on the history of the USSR before the Soviet period and historiography of the history of the USSR at the faculties of archival affairs and state records management. In addition, Mokhnacheva led course and diploma projects. She worked in the subject commission for entrance exams and in the State Examination Commission at the correspondence faculty. From 1983 to 1985, she served as deputy dean of the correspondence faculty. She was also Acting Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Archival Studies. In addition to academic and scientific work, Mokhnacheva also conducted social activities. She was the curator of the student group and a member of the Student Dormitory Council.

In 1984, Mokhnacheva joined the Communist Party . She was part of the party bureau of the faculty of archival affairs of MGIAI. In 1987, she was elected associate professor of MGIAI, and in 1989 she was awarded this academic title. She participated in scientific conferences and lectured at provincial universities. She was engaged in the preparation of teaching and methodological manuals for students, and also supervised the work of interns from near and far abroad (Bulgaria, Germany, the USA, etc.).

Post-Soviet period

On November 26, 1999, Mokhnacheva defended her thesis for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences on the topic “Journalism and Historical Science in Russia of the 30–70s. XIX century: the Experience of source study of historiography ”, and on July 1, 2000 was elected professor at the Historical Archive Institute of the Russian State Humanitarian University (re-elected in 2001, 2006 and 2011, the title of professor was awarded in 2002). Since the same 2000, she held the post of deputy director of the institute for scientific work, and then head of the educational and scientific laboratory "Auxiliary scientific disciplines." She was a member of the selection committee and researcher at the Inter-University Center for Historical Education of the Russian State Humanitarian University. She was also appointed responsible for the cooperation of the RSUH with the Rodina magazine and for the preparation of the solemn celebration of the 70th anniversary of the institute. She was the supervisor of students' theses. She participated in the works of the Astrakhan and Domodedovo branches of the RSUH.

Since 2002, Mokhnacheva acted as an opponent in the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations both in Russia and abroad. Under her leadership, graduate students, applicants and doctoral students prepared their studies not only at the Russian State Humanitarian University, but also at other universities. She participated in the creation, and subsequently the activities of laboratories and centers of new local and intellectual stories at Stavropol , Omsk , Tomsk and Novosibirsk State Universities.

In the 2000s, Mokhnacheva paid much attention to foreign projects. She concluded a number of partnership agreements with foreign higher educational institutions on their cooperation with Russian ones. She was engaged in the scientific management of Hungarian graduate students in Russian studies on the basis of a joint doctoral program at the Russian State Humanitarian University at the Center for Russian Studies of Budapest University. L. Etvosha . In Spain, she worked with local scholars to develop a Russian-language component, also being included in local programs on “family values”. She was the organizer of international conferences, joint educational programs and summer schools. She spoke at symposia in Spain, Hungary, China, Serbia, Croatia, Poland, Armenia, Ukraine and Belarus. She was the editor of collections of conferences and translations of scientific papers into Russian.

The largest of Mokhnacheva’s recent projects was the creation of the history of the Musin-Pushkin family . The very idea of ​​creating his story was conceived back in July 1994 at a conference in Rybinsk on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the opening of the word “ On Igor's Regiment ” - A. I. Musin-Pushkin . The project, however, initially did not have much success, and in 2000, academician S. O. Schmidt turned to Mokhnacheva with a request to "save the honor of Russia . " The latter assumed responsibility for the implementation of this project. With her participation, a team of highly professional historians was assembled, who prepared separate essays on the topic. Mokhnacheva herself was originally involved in editing (coordination, data verification, refinement, etc.), but later she herself took part directly in compiling the history of the Musin-Pushkin clan.

On October 15, 2014, Mokhnacheva was found unconscious at home and was immediately taken to Moscow hospital No. 20, and the next day she died of a stroke.
