Roman Vladimir Romanov (born October 18, 1982 , Moscow , USSR ) is a Russian public figure . Director of the Gulag History Museum. Member of the Interdepartmental Working Group on coordination of activities that implements the concept of public policy to perpetuate the memory of victims of political repression. Member of the Public Chamber of Moscow . Member of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights [1] .

Biography
Born October 18, 1982. Married, father of three children.
He has two higher educations: he graduated from the University of the Russian Academy of Education with a degree in Clinical Psychology, and also completed training in the Museology program at the Museum Department of the Academy of Retraining of Art, Culture and Tourism Workers.
Cultural activities
Since 2000, he worked at the Optical Theater. Since 2005 - Deputy Director. During his work in co-authorship, several optical performances were created, among them: The Little Prince and Alchemy. Light from the depths of centuries. ”
In 2005-2008 worked as the head of the department, and then the general director of the company "Modern Museum Technologies".
On September 11, 2008, he assumed the post of deputy director of the Gulag History Museum ; on February 1, 2012, he was accepted to the position of director of the museum, which he currently holds.
R.V. Romanov initiated the expansion of the administrative and exhibition space of the Gulag History Museum, the move of the Museum to a new building, and the expansion of its staff. Under the leadership of Roman Vladimirovich, the Gulag History Museum has transformed from a small city museum into a museum center of international level.
R.V. Romanov takes a personal part in the development and creation of exhibitions of the Museum, and also, under his leadership, conducts research expeditions to the locations of former camps.
Community Activities
In 2014, the President of the Russian Federation supported the initiative of Russian human rights activists to erect a monument to victims of political repression at the intersection of Academician Sakharov Avenue and the Garden Ring in Moscow. R.V. Romanov joined the jury of the competition for the best project of the Monument.
Since April 18, 2016, he has been the head of the Perpetuation of the Memory of the Victims of Political Repressions Foundation (the Memory Fund), which oversees fundraising for the installation of the Wall of Sorrow monument to victims of political repression in Moscow.
At the initiative of R.V. Romanov, with the participation of experts and employees of regional museums, in October 2015, the Association of Russian Museums of Memory was created. The association allows participants to exchange experiences, unite to coordinate research and educational activities, and implement joint inter-museum projects aimed at preserving the historical memory of mass repressions. The association is open to both state and public organizations, as well as to individuals.
R.V. Romanov is a member of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Coordination of Activities that implements the concept of state policy to perpetuate the memory of victims of political repression, as well as a member of the Public Chamber of Moscow .
December 3, 2018 became a member of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights .
